Partner Minh C. Wai recently obtained a favorable verdict in the Porter County Circuit Court after a week-long jury trial. Plaintiff claimed medical expenses in excess of $730,000 for treatment and permanent hardware for a broken arm, shattered elbow, complete fracture of pelvis, and multiple internal organ lacerations arising out of a 2015 accident involving allegations of “street racing/speed contest.” At closing, Plaintiff asked the jury for $5,000,000-$7,000,000. The jury deliberated for 30 minutes and returned with the defense verdict.
