Congratulations to Andrew D. Ellbogen for another trial victory. It was a week-long trial on a complex medical causation case, where multiple experts sparred over the compensability of the plaintiff’s three surgeries—spanning three years—and costing over $90,000; opposing counsel asked the jury for $297,000. The plaintiff was a passenger in the codefendant’s car, and testified the insured was at fault for blowing a red light. The jury returned a verdict of $15,115, itemized as $6,115 for medical treatment and $9,000 for pain and suffering. The jury found the insured 60% liable, and the codefendant 40% at fault. Ultimately, the final result ended with our client paying significantly less than the pretrial offer. This was Andrew’s second trial victory of 2018!
