Lee W. Melde is a dedicated litigator who believes effective advocacy starts with understanding what is truly at stake for the client. Known for his preparation and persistence, Lee takes ownership of each case from beginning to end and never loses sight of the real person behind it.
Lee’s path to the law began with a drive to take on challenging situations and solve problems while advocating for people. His passion grew as he was exposed to the competitive nature of litigation. He joined Kopka Law Group for its supportive, team-oriented culture and the opportunity to keep developing his skills as a litigator. For Lee, earning a client’s trust during one of the most stressful times in their life is especially rewarding.
A former collegiate hockey player at SUNY Canton, Lee brings the discipline, accountability, and selfless teamwork he learned on the ice to his legal practice. Originally from Minnesota, he now calls Michigan. Outside the office, he enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, and cheering on Minnesota sports teams.
