Emily Shimanovsky is an associate attorney in the Chicago office concentrating her practice on defense litigation. She represents clients in various matters including automobile accidents, premises liability, products liability, UIM/UM claims, and general civil defense.
Before joining Kopka Law, Emily gained significant experience working with both plaintiff and defense firms. During this time, she developed strong skills in legal writing, client communication, discovery, and motion practice. She has also actively participated in various depositions, mediations, pre-trials, and court hearings.
Emily earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was named to the Dean’s List and served as a member and 3L Representative of the Jewish Law Student Association. She is also an active member of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. In addition, Emily is licensed in the Northern District of Illinois.
In her free time, Emily loves traveling, fitness, dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.
