Renee L. Scott-Mitchell has over 20 years of diverse and innovative civil litigation and business experience. She focuses her practice in insurance defense, including first and third-party claims, automobile negligence, subrogation claims, premises liability and contract law. Renee has proven to be a trusted advisor to her clients and business partners. She is a dynamic negotiator and litigator, with a notable track record in the courtroom litigating both jury and bench trials.
Renee has built her career representing her clients in subrogation and insurance defense cases with potential high liability exposure, including high risk and/or complex automobile injuries and commercial liability, business, product liability, dog bites, premises liability, drowning, slip and fall cases involving extensive ongoing treatment, permanent injuries or wrongful death.
Before joining Kopka Pinkus Dolin, Renee developed her practice as in-house counsel for one of the largest insurance and financial service companies in the United States. She has extensive knowledge in insurance regulatory environments, claims, and policy interpretation. Renee has substantial experience training senior management and claims personnel on the legal issues that affect the insurance industry.
