For Christopher M. Jennings, both in his legal practice and in his life, relationships matter. Whether he is advocating for a client, helping build a team, or spending time with his family, he brings the same sense of commitment, preparation, and loyalty to the people who matter most.

Chris knew he wanted to be a lawyer after participating in a mock trial in seventh grade. The experience introduced him to the challenge of building a compelling story that will persuade a jury and the opportunity to perform when the lights are brightest, two aspects of trial work that continue to shape his motivation as a lawyer. Years later, a five-day jury trial in 2017 taught him how much the daily decisions in a case affect people’s lives. He still thinks about it, and it keeps him grounded in how he handles every matter.

For Chris, effective advocacy begins long before trial. His philosophy is that preparation is the centerpiece of understanding his client’s needs and executing an effective legal strategy. Organization, attention to detail, and commitment to finding practical solutions guide his approach, whether that means aggressively litigating a case through trial or accurately recognizing an early resolution. Above all, he is committed to providing candid advice and guiding clients through challenging and uncertain circumstances.

Chris joined Kopka Law Group because he saw an opportunity to help build something for the future. After spending his career in insurance defense, he was drawn to Kopka’s collaborative structure and the autonomy it offers to attorneys to lead and grow. He is particularly excited about helping build the firm’s Farmington Hills team and supporting an environment where talented attorneys and staff are motivated to do their best work.

Outside of the office, Chris is a devoted husband and father who spends much of his time with his wife and kids. He married his high school sweetheart, Allison, and together they are raising their son, Kemper, and daughter, Lorelai, alongside their three dogs, Maizyn, Braelynn, and Hayden. The family are avid sports fans, regularly cheering on Michigan football and basketball. Their loyalty to the Wolverines even made its way into their wedding, where maize and blue were the colors of the day, a fitting reflection of a family tradition that runs deep.
