Steven M. Couch has been practicing law since 2006 with a primary focus on civil litigation. He has handled matters including premises liability, insurance coverage, construction, alleged bad faith, landlord-tenant and general commercial litigation. Before joining Kopka Pinkus Dolin, he practiced at litigation firms in Detroit and Boston.
During law school, Steven was actively involved in the Boston University’s moot court program, including representing the school at the National First Amendment Moot Court Competition. He was also a staff member and Articles Editor for the Boston University Public Interest Law Journal.
TRIAL AND CASE HIGHLIGHTS
- Obtained dismissal of $250,000 No-Fault attendant care claim after uncovering fraud of plaintiff and care provider.
Successfully represented national insurance carrier in coverage dispute concerning allegations of faulty yacht construction; obtained zero-dollar settlement of claim for carrier despite multi-million dollar exposure.
Obtained summary judgment for residential landlord in action concerning slip and fall on icy walkway soon after abolition to the “natural accumulation” defense formerly available under Massachusetts law.
