Ryan Schoffelmeer currently focuses his civil litigation practice on several diverse areas of the law, representing insurance companies, self-insured corporations and businesses. He has defended clients in matters involving transportation, automobile liability, premises liability, wrongful death, and breach of contract. Additionally, Ryan represents insurance carriers in declaratory judgment actions and interpleaders. Most recently, Ryan was selected to the 2019 Indiana Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list, a distinction received by only 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state.

Ryan graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in May 2013. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in both Finance and Economics from James Madison University – College of Business.

Throughout law school, Ryan was a participant of the Honors program and clerked for the Honorable Robert L. Miller Jr., in the United States District Court, Northern District of Indiana seated in South Bend.

When Ryan is not practicing law, he still wakes up early on the weekends to watch Liverpool Football Club. He is also an avid gardener. Ryan lives with his wife, Ashley, and their son in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Trial and Case Highlights
  • Ryan assisted in the representation of a commercial motor carrier Finance that was involved in a forty-car pile-up on an Indiana interstate. Ryan participated in the resolution of the matter through a two-day mediation and the negotiation of favorable settlement terms.
