Elizabeth A. Hackney

Elizabeth Hackney is an attorney based in our Chicago office, focusing her practice on workers’ compensation and related matters. Since beginning her legal career in January 2020, she has developed experience advocating for clients navigating workplace injuries, as well as assisting individuals with criminal expungement matters. Her practical and client-centered approach allows her to effectively guide clients through complex legal processes while remaining mindful of how legal issues impact their daily lives.

Prior to entering private practice, Elizabeth began her legal career as a law clerk. She later transitioned to a workers’ compensation role, where she built a strong foundation in handling claims from inception through trial. A pivotal moment in her career came when she took her first workers’ compensation claim to trial, shaping her perspective on client interaction and reinforcing the importance of empathy in legal advocacy.

Elizabeth was drawn to the legal profession by her passion for argument and intellectual problem-solving, finding fulfillment in analyzing legal issues and resolving disputes. She remains committed to helping others and achieving meaningful outcomes for her clients. 

Outside of her legal practice, Elizabeth enjoys reading, gaming, and creative hobbies. She is also an animal lover and cares for her three dogs, Ginger, Wasabi, and Sriracha, and can often be found relaxing with a book or a game in her free time.
