Aletha Thomas began her career as a public defender and represented individuals from every walk of life and tried cases ranging from possession of marijuana to murder. She clerked for Jefferson Circuit Judge Brian C. Edwards for a year and learned a lot about the legal process from behind the bench. Aletha then went into civil litigation and has primarily focused on first- and third-party insurance defense, insurance subrogation, and products liability claims.

In law school, Aletha was the managing editor of the Brandeis Law Journal and a member of the Moot Court Board.

Aletha is a mom of two amazing children and enjoys going to concerts and work on home improvement projects. She has also volunteered for Legal Aid, the Center for Women and Families, and Catholic Charities.
