Courtney focuses much of her practice in insurance defense, representing Michigan’s major insurance companies, handling all aspects of litigation, including Michigan No-Fault, UM/UIM, personal protection insurance (PIP), wrongful death, and catastrophic injury. She also has experience handling creditor-debtor, landlord-tenant, custody, divorce, and medical malpractice cases.
During law school, Courtney was a member of law review and the Geoffrey Fieger Trial Practice Institute. She spent three months working at a law firm in Brussels, Belgium working on various projects for the European Commission.
After graduating from Michigan State University College of Law, Courtney worked as a judicial law clerk at the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County where she drafted the Circuit Court Andary Opinion, a landmark decision regarding the constitutionality of the 2019 Amendments to the No-Fault Act, with the Honorable Judge Wanda M. Stokes. She also obtained a summary disposition as to all PIP and UM/UIM claims in a catastrophic claim file with policy limits of $500,000.
Courtney is an active member of the Ingham County Bar Association, Junior League of Lansing, and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.
In her free time, Courtney enjoys running, trying out new restaurants and cuisine, and taking her Bernedoodle, Charlie, to the dog park. She is also an avid traveler and has visited more than 25 countries.
