Carol J. Sangster focuses her practice in worker’s compensation, representing employers, insurance companies, and third party administrators throughout the state of Indiana. She has been practicing in the area of worker’s compensation since 2003. Prior to joining Kopka Pinkus Dolin, Carol practiced at her own firm in Highland, Indiana. There she represented injured workers and employers. Having represented parties on both sides of a claim, Carol brings a unique perspective to her practice and provides a well-rounded approach to the way each claim is handled.
Throughout her career, Carol has had a significant amount of success in front of the Indiana Worker’s Compensation Board’s Single Hearing Members, as well as on appellate review by the Full Board. She has also been successful at the Indiana Court of Appeals level. Her dedication to see a claim through to its conclusion—at any level—is evident.
An instrumental resource to her clients, Carol often provides in-person seminars, as well as webinars, on handling Indiana Worker’s Compensation claims, ethics, and significant changes to the law.
Carol has been a member of the Indiana State Bar Association’s Citizenship Committee since the beginning of her legal career. Several times a year, she represents the ISBA by participating in Naturalization Ceremonies that take place at the Federal Courthouse in Hammond, Indiana. She has participated in the naturalization of hundreds of new American citizens.
Carol also enjoys volunteering with the Indiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program (JLAP), because it enables her to give back to the fellow members of the Bar by providing guidance and counseling. Since 2004, she has supervised many attorneys, from new attorneys starting out to experienced attorneys dealing with an issue such as addiction or stress/anxiety.
