Erik C. Stein concentrates his practice in civil litigation, including bankruptcy actions, real estate disputes, quiet title actions, professional liability, directors and officers, errors and omissions claims, and commercial disputes. He also handles matters involving premises liability, retail and restaurant, transportation, and Michigan No-Fault. He has significant experience handling bankruptcy actions under Chapters 7 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code, including contested matters and adversary proceedings, on behalf of unsecured and secured creditors and debtors.
Erik is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Michigan and has advised clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including closings, property management, lease agreements, financing, and landlord-tenant matters. He has instructed continuing education courses for real estate professionals, developed policies and procedures for real estate brokerages and represented real estate professionals in professional liability claims, such as errors and omissions. In addition, he has defended apartment complexes on a variety of issues including premises liability.
Erik is a graduate of Michigan State University and University of Toledo College of Law. As a student, he was the Chair of the University of Toledo Moot Court Team, as well as a member of the Order of the Barristers.
