DORIT N. GERTSBERG

Dorit N. Gertsberg focuses her insurance defense practice in a variety of civil litigation matters, including Michigan No-Fault and premises liability. Dorit is a dedicated advocate with a reputation for logically rigorous and technically precise research and writing abilities. Prior to joining Kopka Pinkus Dolin, Dorit worked with a prominent boutique law firm where she honed her research and writing skills in addition to developing her litigation tradecraft.
Dorit served as a research attorney to the Honorable Nick O. Holowka, Chief Judge of Fortieth Circuit Court for the County of Lapeer, where she handled all aspects of circuit practice, spanning civil, criminal, and appellate matters.
Dorit graduated magna cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law in 2015, with a full Faculty Scholarship. She earned Jurisprudence Awards in (1) Race, Law & American Culture, and (2) Estate Planning & Drafting. She also served as the Vice President of the Military Law Society.
While in law school, Dorit interned with the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs in the Corporations Division of the Corporations, Securities & Commercial Licensing Bureau. Dorit also served as intern to the Honorable John C. Foster (ret.), Chief Judge of the Sixteenth Circuit Court for the County of Macomb, in the Business Court, and additionally interned with the Honorable Mark J. Cavanagh of the Second District Court of Appeals. Dorit earned a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in History from the University of Michigan in 2012, and was a Senior Editor of the Michigan Journal of History.
