Aimée A. Schatz focuses her practice on the defense of breach of warranty and consumer fraud matters throughout the State of Illinois, as well as the State of Indiana. Her primary client is General Motors and she is responsible for handling these claims from the litigation prevention phase, through pre-suit assessments, settlement negotiations, discovery, depositions, arbitration and trial. Aimée is actively involved with a network of automobile dealerships speaking at service club meetings and providing one-on-one counsel to assist these dealers in handling their problem customers before they have the chance to become plaintiffs, thereby cutting down the amount of litigation required for her clients. In addition to her superior litigation skills, Aimée has a keen grasp on the mechanical nature of automotive defense and works hands-on with experts when a case requires it.

In addition to auto manufacturers, Aimée counsels and represents dealerships in warranty and fraud matters as well as other legal needs that arise in their business such as worker’s compensation, collections, employment contract disputes, lease and property disputes, common law and consumer fraud claims. Through her work with manufacturers, Aimée finds herself in an invaluable position to offer counsel to dealerships and auto financing companies who face many of the same or similar legal issues.

Aimée began her professional career practicing family law focusing in the areas of child custody, financial settlements and premarital agreements. She was privileged to be included on the list of attorneys qualified to represent minor children in contested custody disputes.  Long after changing the focus of her practice from family law to automotive defense, Aimée continued to act as a pro bono child representative in numerous cases by direct appointment of the court.

During law school, Aimée completed an externship as a law clerk for the Honorable Allen Goldberg in Cook County, Illinois. In her undergraduate studies, Aimée majored in Business Management and Computer Systems with minors in Theology, Political Science, Music Performance and Theatre.

Aimée is the mother of three boys and an avid runner in her free time.
